Kolongo Ministries Statement of Beliefs

We Believe that ...
the entire Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
there is only one living, sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Being both fully God and fully man, He lived a sinless life.
in this age, God manifests Himself through the Holy Spirit, who is a distinct personality, eternally coexistent with the Father and the Son. The Spirit’s basic tasks are to convict sinners, to regenerate those who believe, and to empower believers to live godly lives and in every way to glorify the Father and the Son through His indwelling presence.
God created all things for His glory. God created man in His own image, male and female, with immortal souls.
Adam and Eve sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God and is upon all mankind. All men are sinners by nature and by choice and are unable to save themselves from this lost condition.
salvation is by God alone, as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit or foreseen faith.
the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected in body, that He physically ascended into Heaven and presently lives there for us as High Priest and Advocate, and that one day He will physically return to earth as Judge and King.
every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is called to obey Christ and His teachings and to pursue righteousness, enabled by the Holy Spirit.
the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. Faith in the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrificial death is the only means of salvation.
the Lord Jesus Christ commanded His followers to make disciples of all peoples throughout the world and to witness to the truth and love of God.
in the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting for those who acknowledge Jesus as their Savior.
